The Powell-Peralta Mike McGill Skull & Snake is one of the most iconic decks of the 1980s, released in 1984 as vert skating was exploding and McGill was perfecting the 540 McTwist in Sweden. Artist Vernon Courtlandt Johnson expanded on the popular Skull & Bones theme, while McGill added the snake and lightning bolts as a tribute to his Florida roots.
The result became a legendary graphic and a symbol of skateboarding’s golden era. This reissue stays faithful to the original with a 10 inch width, 30.125 inch length, 16.625 inch wheelbase, SP3 concave, 2.5 inch nose, and 6 inch tail. Each stained veneer is unique, making every board slightly different while keeping the bold artwork intact. Built with premium U.S. hard rock maple and pressed with epoxy by Powell-Peralta’s partner in Mexico, the deck is warranted against delamination and made to perform as well as it did four decades ago. Limited in release, this reissue is both a rider’s dream and a collector’s essential.
