A bona fide wave magnet, Dave has more recently switched his focus to raising a young family and heading up the R & D and design team for The Versus Project. The latest VS range is testimony to Winny’s constant search for functional foam fun. “I think Kinetic PP is the pinnacle of high performance board cores. It’s the base for our PFS and ProRide constructions and one of the reasons why our high-end range works so well. My Kinetic PP model features a separate tail piece. I love the harder top edge transition from deck to tail piece as it allows my back foot to hook into the tail corner when I’m on the knee. I also love the colour contrast of a tail piece! The Parallel Channels gives such good hold in the barrel and on the wave face and I feel I can really drive through my bottom turns without fear of sliding out. The projection it gives is insane and it keeps such a nice, flat rocker. I’ve gone for Nose Bulbs and just the back part of my latest deck contour on this one.
